Simple Ways to Avoid Chemicals in Your Daily Life
Because harsh industrial chemicals are found in many of your favorite skin and body care products, it is important to do the following:

Do a simple Google search - "industrial chemicals in consumer products." Be more aware of not only what is in your personal care but also your food and if you have children, their products as well.

Know and bookmark Environmental Working Group Environmental Working Group (ewg.org). This is a valuable resource for every human being who is concerned about unwanted chemicals in our environment, food and consumer products.

How to Transition Into a Healthier Lifestyle Step by Step

Read Your Labels - Please read the labels on your products before making a final purchase. In Ralph's supermarket it was horrifying to read the ingredients in some of the food. There were many of the same noxious industrial chemicals in the packaged foods that one finds in their skin care ! This makes for an incredible toxic burden to the body. Be aware!

Wear Organic Cotton - Conventionally grown cotton relies on the most poisonous and environmentally corrosive insecticides, pesticides and chemicals to produce just one T-shirt. These chemicals are also destroying our environment as well as the health of the farmers that harvest the cotton. And your baby - You better be discerning because they are little sponges absorbing any and every chemical in their environment and unlike us, have no way to excrete these poisons.

Purchase Quality Supplements - I went to visit my grandfather and his wife and took a look at the vitamins in their house and saw the same potential carcinogens and mutagens that are in our food, skin care and now, our vitamins! There were FD&C colors, phthalates and dioxins listed in their ingredients. Avoid supplements in drug stores and instead purchase them in an integrative or homeopathic pharmacy where there is a quality staff of practitioners who can help you find the top quality nutrients your body deserves.

Eat Locally Grown and Organic Foods - The pesticides, insecticides, hormones, antibiotics and viruses that are in our conventional foods belong nowhere near the human body. Shop at local farmer's markets to ensure you are eating only local and healthy fruits, produce and dairy. Also by shopping at these colorful markets, you are supporting our farmers who need so desperately our endorsement as well as our dollars to sustain their farms.

Avoid Plastic - This may be inconvenient, but honestly all of our years of demanding convenience, quicker, faster and bigger, has contributed to the demise and the sickness of our planet. Plastic does not biodegrade. It instead beaks down into microscopic plastic dust. We breathe this and it latches onto our lungs. Plastic is also an overwhelming burden to our landfills. Many times what can be recycled is not. There is just so much. It is endless. Please avoid anything packaged in plastic as much as you can. Save any plastic bags and containers that you do have and re-use them.

DO NOT
•  Cook pre-cooked foods sealed in plastic in boiling water!
•  Cover food in plastic and cook in a microwave.
